I was born in Redwood City, CA. to a navy sailor and a housewife. My creativity began to emerge while writing poems. After high school graduation, I continued to write in the form of metaphorical editorials. I entered into the high tech industry and took business writing courses at San Jose State to enhance my professional skills. Writing letters of recommendation, executive correspondence and presentations became my daily tasks for over a decade. While taking a sabbatical in late 2006, I accepted a contest challenge to write a novel in 30 days. In 2008 Children’s Chapter Book, Sir Licksalot & The Maverick Fools was published, followed by Sir Licksalot & The Island Fools in 2012, Sir Licksalot & The Arctic Fools in 2013, and Sir Licksalot & The Bay Fools in 2014.
I write to ignite a child's desire to read and then leave a paw print on their heart.
UPDATE: Unfortunately in late 2017, my publisher abruptly closed their business. Therefore, as of early 2018 my award-winning children's chapter books are no longer available. You may be able to find used books online. Some public libraries & school libraries also have the books. As of April 2024, the series is now available on Amazon for Kindle users.
During the 2020 pandemic, my creativity soared and I was inspired to release a new work of art that I believe will challenge your mind, then leave a lasting thought! Some of my top philosophical thoughts are now in print, on 504 pc and 1000 pc jigsaw puzzles.
